Open Letter to Sunshine Clinic Patients

Sunshine Community Health Center
The Sunshine Community Health Center would like to thank our patients for their
“patience” over the past three months as we made the transition from paper files to the new
electronic medical records system. There are always some bumps in the road when you
begin a new system and we certainly have experienced a number of them from billing issues
to scheduling to slide calculations, and we hope that most have been resolved to the
satisfaction of both the patients and the clinic. However, we must warn you that we are not
done yet; we are currently working the development of bidirectional interface with our lab
services, which will mean less paper and quicker results, so we ask for your patience a little
longer.
I know that there have also been some questions regarding our dental program now that
Dr. Tina as left the clinic and state. We are currently advertising in a number of different
venues and have actually interviewed three-perspective candidates. We are also in
discussions with a dentist from the lower valley who is willing to come up here one to two
days a week, until we secure a permanent replacement. As soon as we confirm with him
we will inform the community via the newspapers and radio station, so stay tuned for that
announcement. Traci is still here so we are still seeing established patients for cleanings and
fluoride treatments. Anyone who is not an established patient (meaning they have NOT had
a comprehensive exam, radiographs, and cleaning at Sunshine), may call and be placed on a
waiting list and will be scheduled once a new dentist is in place.
Lastly, thanks for your understanding during the two days we were closed for very icy
and treacherous road conditions. You safety and the safety of our staff is very important to
us.
